Can someone help this extra-special calico puff ball kitty called Cat find a place to stay while her owner is deployed with the Air Force for 6 months? She will need a foster from January 1, 2023 – July 5, 2023.
Cat’s owner has had this sweet girl for 9 years and wants to make sure she has a safe, loving home while he is away. She is currently located in Surprise, AZ, and can be transported within a 12-hour radius.
Cat is a sweet, loving older cat that is very mellow. While Cat is quiet, she will let you know when her food bowl is empty or if she is in the mood for a little extra treat. Cat enjoys sleeping 80% of the time, watching TV, and cuddling up with her owner to sleep.
Cat has very mild cerebellar hypoplasia (CH)*, which basically means her coordination is a little off, she walks and runs with a wobble and can’t jump. It does not otherwise affect her behavior or appetite in any way.
Cat has a pretty chill personality with dogs, as her owner has fostered many for friends while they’ve deployed. While she hasn’t been around other cats, her owner feels that she would be fine as long as the other cat didn’t bother her.
*CH is a condition where a kitten’s brain does not finish growing and remains in an immature state due to a viral infection in the mother cat. The infection causes a pause in the unborn kitten’s brain development, specifically to the area called the cerebellum, which is responsible for coordinated movement and balance. The condition does not worsen over time.
It is not a contagious disease, so if your cat is exposed to another cat with cerebellar hypoplasia, your cat is not at risk for developing any symptoms.
