Does anyone have room for this lovable, big lap dog?
Bubbles is a 7-month-old Great Dane whose Mom is about to deploy with the National Guard. Their previously secured caretaker has fallen through at the last minute, and they are in great need of a foster from 12/5/2022 – 8/31/2023.
Bubbles is a big, dopey puppy who loves everyone and the feeling is mutual! Bubbles would do great with an active foster so he can go for walks and to the dog park, getting exercise and meeting new friends – both human and animal – along the way. Bubbles is a very lovable dog who thinks he is a tiny lap dog and wants to sit on your lap, cuddle and kiss all of the time.
Bubbles has a 3-year-old human sibling and is around younger children, but due to his size, his owner would prefer a family that has older children since he really does not know how big he is.
Bubbles does have minor separation anxiety and likes to be in the same room as you, and may bark if he is left in a room and you are in another. Bubbles loves his toys and his owner will supply plenty for him to play with and chew on. While he does not have any destructive tendencies, he is still a puppy.
Bubbles needs a foster who has experience with training X-large youthful dogs.
BUBBLES CURRENT FOSTER STATES:
Bubbles is wonderful. We have taken him on numerous car rides and he does great. He has attended parties with adults, children and other dogs and fits right in. I’ve had him up to my mother’s nursing home and he was a hit with all of the residents. He didn’t even shy away from the wheelchairs and took the opportunity to sit on any lap available. We walk 3 miles a day and his leash skills are improving. He is certainly a puppy and clothing left sitting around is “fair game” for a good tug of war. The same goes for shoes. He needs some confidence building and a home with another dog may be helpful for him.
Special Note: Due to skeletal growth issues, large-breed dogs are recommended to be neutered after a minimum of 1 year of age. Bubbles’ owner is willing to pay for his neutering after he turns 1, but his foster will need to arrange his surgery and see him through his recovery.
