Looking for a loving, snuggly companion to care for while doing something wonderful for both a cat and a military service member? Thor is a sweet and lovable kitty in need of a foster home while his owner is deployed overseas from April 15, 2025 – April 15, 2026. His owner is happy to transport him within a 4-hour radius of Columbia, SC, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re close by!

Thor’s Details:
Thor is a 2-year-old male Domestic Medium Hair (DMH) cat who weighs 15 pounds. He has a medium energy level, making him a mellow yet playful companion. This sweet, affectionate, and playful kitty will make a perfect addition to a loving home.

Thor’s Personality:
Thor is a velcro kitty who absolutely adores his owner and has formed a strong bond. He’s a bit of a shadow, following his human around and always wanting to be near him. This affectionate cat loves to cuddle and shows his love by kneading (making biscuits!) when he’s happy. He’s the ultimate snuggler who will curl up with you for all the pets and attention you can offer.

Playful and Fun:
While Thor is very chill overall, he still enjoys his moments of play! He loves string toys, catnip toys, and laser toys—watch out for his zoomies! When he’s not playing, you’ll often find him lounging by the window, watching the birds and critters outside.

Loves Attention:
One of Thor’s most endearing qualities is his love for attention. He will happily meow to get your attention, and when you pet him, he’ll often fall asleep in your lap, purring contentedly. But a little heads up: if Thor gets overstimulated, he may give you a quick love bite to let you know it’s time to stop. It’s just his way of setting boundaries, but he’s truly a gentle and sweet soul.

Getting to Know Thor:
Thor can be a bit shy at first, so patience is key when getting to know him. He does warm up quickly, especially when given some lickable treats to help him feel more comfortable. He doesn’t enjoy loud noises or chaotic environments, so a calm home would be ideal for him. Thor is litter box trained and appreciates a clean box.

Good with Others:
He is great with people and kids who will give him the space he needs while he adjusts, and he’s lived with other cats. While he’s never been around dogs, Thor may do well with calm, cat-friendly dogs who will respect his space and ignore him.
