Abby Still needs a foster!!!!!

A Foster home is needed for this trio,  but they can be separated.

Riley, Abby & Gunner’s owner is in the Army and deploying to Iraq and needs someone to watch his pups while he is away. Feb. 2, 2023- Oct. 15, 2023.

Located in Leesville, LA, the owner can transport within an 8-10 hour driving radius.

Riley, Abby, and Gunner are your typical laboratory retrievers; friendly, outgoing, and loving companions who have more than enough affection to go around for everyone. All well-behaved dogs who get along with people, children, dogs, and cats.  While crate trained, they do not need to be crated and have no destructive tendencies.

All enjoy going for walks and to the dog park.

Riley

Riley is the most senior and mellow of the trio at 8 years old. In general, he is very quiet and tends to sleep a lot.  At the dog park, he will run and play with the other dogs, but his age is catching up to him, and he will end up chilling with his owner. While he has no aggressive tendencies and is easygoing with other dogs, he will defend himself if an alpha tries to dominate him.

Riley is leash trained and, while walking, is eager to meet new people and pets.

Abby

Abby is the middle child and the only female in this group; she has a very good disposition and is submissive to her brothers. Abby enjoys walking but is initially shy when meeting new people and dogs. Abby loves going to the dog park, running around, and playing chase with the other dogs. Abby is timid and fearful of loud noises and will try to get far away from the noise as possible. Typically she will either hide in a closet or come to the owner to be comforted.  During down time Abby loves to cuddle up with the owner.

Gunner

Gunner is the trio’s youngest, full of fun-loving energy and a loving, happy dog. Gunner is always eager to go; whether on a walk or at the dog park, he wants to go.  Gunner is leash trained but tends to pull because he wants to investigate everything and meet new friends.  Gunner loves to be in the middle of all the action; he needs to be wherever you are and loves to cuddle.

At night the dogs sleep with each other in the living room, either on the floor or sofa.
