Meet Odin & Thor – A Pair of Lovable Dogs in Need of a Foster Home!

Introducing Odin and Thor, a bonded pair of lovable dogs in need of a foster home while their owner focuses on physicals and occupational therapy following a brain aneurysm. Odin and Thor’s previous caregiver was unable to continue caring for them due to a housing issue and brought them to the care facility where their owner is currently undergoing treatment. The facility has generously allowed the dogs to stay in the treatment house temporarily, but they need to find a foster home quickly. Odin and Thor are currently located in Germantown, Maryland, and the owner can arrange transport within a 2-hour radius of Germantown to ensure they’re placed in a safe and loving foster home. Their foster care is needed until May 7, 2025.

Odin is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who weighs 78 pounds and has a medium energy level. He’s house, crate, and semi-leash trained, and is also pee pad trained. Thor, a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighs just 10 pounds and has a low energy level. He’s house, leash, and crate trained as well, and is also pee pad trained. Both dogs should be crated when left unattended to keep them safe. The owner hopes to keep this bonded pair together during their time in foster care, and is willing to assist with transportation if needed.

Both Odin and Thor are friendly, loving, and well-behaved. They are great with people, children, dogs, and cats, and have lived with a variety of animals, including ferrets and birds. While Odin is a bit more excitable and loves to play, it’s important to note that some dogs may not enjoy his high energy, so a meet-and-greet is highly recommended. Odin is very eager to meet new people and pets, and he tends to pull strongly on the leash because of his excitement. Though he is submissive to Thor, the owner isn’t sure how he would react to other dogs, as it has been some time since he interacted with them, but he has always been friendly and happy.

Both dogs are affectionate and enjoy cuddling with their owner. Odin, especially, is a velcro dog and will follow his person everywhere. They’ve both lived with children and are great with children of all ages, though they haven’t been around toddlers recently. Odin and Thor have been raised together and have a strong bond, so keeping them together in their foster home is essential for their well-being.
