( Foster Found) Leo R.

Meet Leo, a sweet timid chihuahua that needs a foster while the owner is training in the Navy from May 5, 2024- Aug. 30, 2024. The owner can transport within a 4-hour radius of Bridgeport, CT.

Leo has been the owner’s constant companion for  7 years and is hoping that PACT can find a safe foster that will care for him until she can be reunited with him. Leo is a 7-year-old chihuahua that is very timid and fearful. He does well with people and children after a slow introduction, and once you cuddle with him and he feels safe, he will follow you everywhere. Leo loves to cuddle and be by your side.  Leo is partially housebroken but is pee-pad trained.  Leo is used to living in an apartment but does bark at unfamiliar noises or when scared.

Leo enjoys going for walks and may pull a little, but being only 7 pounds, it is manageable. On walks, he tends to ignore or shy away from new people and pets, but if introduced slowly, he is friendly. Leo tends to do well with smaller calm dogs that will not jump or hump him.  Leo only had one encounter with a cat, and they were friendly.

While Leo is timid, he has shown protective behavior when strangers quickly approach the owner or her toddler sister. While he is protective, he usually stays away from toddlers but has never shown any aggression.

The owner states that Leo is a sweet, loving, affectionate pup who could use some extra-loving, patient foster that will let him cuddle with them.  Leo might do well in a quieter household without much commotion and with older children.
