Foster Coco – Give These Lovable German Shepherds a Temporary Foster Home!
Gunner found a foster – only need one for Coco.
Meet Coco and Gunner, two affectionate and cuddly German Shepherd siblings in urgent need of a foster home! Their devoted owner is away for military training, and their spouse is unable to care for them due to an MS flare-up following childbirth. Their owner can transport them within a 4-hour radius of Fort Belvoir, VA. A foster home is needed immediately until May 24, 2025.
Coco is a 5-year-old, 85-pound, high-energy female German Shepherd who is house, leash, and crate trained. She is good with people, children, most dogs, and even chickens, but she is not suitable for a home with cats due to her high prey drive. Gunner, her 5-year-old, 105-pound brother, is also high-energy, house, leash, and crate trained. Like Coco, he is great with people, children, most dogs, and chickens but has a high prey drive that makes him unsafe around cats.
This bonded sibling duo is full of love and affection! Both are fantastic with people and children and enjoy making new friends. While they have a big bark, they are gentle souls who love attention. They are eager to go on walks, do well on a leash, and enjoy car rides—Gunner is always the first one in! They are curious about meeting new dogs but may initially be timid, with Coco especially clinging to her human until she feels comfortable.
Coco is an active girl who loves running, playing fetch, and going on adventures like visiting Home Depot. She thrives on being engaged and should be crated when left alone or overnight to prevent restlessness. Gunner is a big teddy bear who thinks he’s a lap dog. He loves cuddling, taking naps, and receiving endless pets. Though he may sound intimidating with his bark, he is incredibly friendly and adores human interaction. He’s goofy, fun-loving, and could play fetch for hours!
Both dogs are great with kids but can be fearful if children rush at them. While they have experience with children of all ages, they have limited exposure to toddlers. These two loving German Shepherds need a temporary home filled with care and companionship. If you can open your home and heart to them, you’ll be giving them a safe and comfortable place until their owner returns.
