(Foster Found) Chewy D.

Meet Chewy, a low-maintenance, lovable Shih Tzu mix that needs a foster while the owner is deployed from Sept 13, 2024- May 1, 2025.  The owner can transport within 4 hours of Richmond, VA.

The owner rescued Chewy while serving in Bahrain and this cute little sweetheart has been his companion ever since. Chewy is a mellow little guy who wants to be by your side. Chewy is good with people, children, dogs, and cats. Chewy is house and leash-trained, and loves going for long walks. On walks, Chewy is always eager to say hi to people and other dogs but can be overwhelmed by hyper or alpha dogs and will let them know to back off. Chewy loves hanging at the dog park and playing with other dogs his size. Chewy is not crate-trained but doesn’t need to be because he has no destructive tendencies. Chewy does well with young children but doesn’t like his face being pulled on.  He has lived with cats but is playful and play chase, but is always friendly and loving.

Chewy enjoys going everywhere with his owner, anywhere dogs are allowed Chewy goes. The owner even has a backpack for going on adventures and activities. Chewy is normally quiet and content to be with the owner and around people.  At home. Chewy does get the zoomies now and again, and enjoys playing fetch with his mini tennis ball or tug-a-war but he does sleep a lot and loves to cuddle and sleep with the owner.
