Charlie is a 4-year-old Chocolate Lab with a heart of gold who is looking for a temporary foster home while his owners are on military assignment. They are unable to take Charlie with them and are seeking a loving foster family within a 5-hour radius of Nashville, TN. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion, Charlie could be the perfect fit for you!

Personality & Temperament

Charlie is a calm, friendly, and affectionate dog who loves being around people and other dogs. He has a gentle nature and is great with kids of all ages, making him an ideal family pet. Charlie is very social, always eager to meet new people and dogs on his walks or at the dog park. He enjoys playing with other dogs and sniffing around, but he’s equally content to relax and spend quality time with his humans. When he’s not at the dog park, Charlie loves walking laps around the yard with his owner or simply lounging nearby, soaking up attention and affection. His kind and playful demeanor make him a joy to have around, and he will quickly become your best friend.

Training & Behavior

Charlie is house-trained, which means he’s completely reliable when it comes to bathroom habits. He’s also semi-leash trained but tends to pull hard, so a little guidance and patience will go a long way. While he’s not crate trained, there’s no need to crate him, as Charlie doesn’t exhibit any destructive behaviors. He’s calm and well-mannered indoors, making him a very low-maintenance dog to have around the house. While Charlie gets along well with other dogs, he hasn’t been tested with cats, so we recommend a dog-only household or a cat-free home for now.

Sleeping Habits & Routine

At night, Charlie sleeps peacefully on his own raised bed in the owner’s bedroom, which he loves. His bed is his space, and he’s very content with it. He’s not a dog that requires constant attention, but he does love being near his people. Whether it’s napping during the day or cuddling up at night, Charlie enjoys being close and will gladly join you for some relaxing time together.

Playtime & Fun Activities

Charlie is a playful and silly dog at heart! He enjoys interactive games like tug-of-war and loves to spend time in the yard, where he can sunbathe, watch the birds, and keep an eye on any critters in the trees. His playful side shines through whenever he’s outside, and he’s always up for a fun time, whether that’s playing with a toy, running around, or just enjoying the sunshine.
