Foster a Sweet Big Baby – Meet Callie!

Meet Callie, a loving and playful 6-year-old Rottweiler who is looking for a foster home while her owner is deployed. Callie’s owner will be away from March 1, 2025, to December 18, 2025, and is urgently seeking a safe and loving foster home for her sweet girl during this time. Callie is currently located in Suffolk, VA, but her owner is willing to transport her almost anywhere, as long as time permits, to ensure Callie is placed in the best possible foster care.

Due to last-minute IA deployment orders, Callie’s owner is unable to care for her while they are away, and as a result, Callie needs a foster home where she can feel safe, loved, and secure until her owner returns. The length of the foster stay will be approximately 9 months, and we are hoping to find a foster who can offer a comfortable, stable environment for her during this time.

Callie is a sweet, affectionate, and playful girl who is house-trained, crate-trained, and semi-leash trained. She gets along wonderfully with people, children (ages 6 and up), dogs, and even cats (although she tends to ignore them). Callie is energetic and loves meeting new people and dogs—when she sees someone or something exciting, she wiggles her butt with excitement, eager to say hello. However, she isn’t fond of small, yappy dogs and may bark back at them.

Callie is used to apartment life and enjoys daily walks, going to the dog park, and playing fetch. She loves to run around, sniff the grass, and even chase other dogs. While she’s crate-trained, she doesn’t need to be crated and has no destructive tendencies—except for occasionally chewing on remotes or soft squeaky toys. Callie is also used to being left alone during the workday, so she’s well-adjusted to independent time at home.

This big girl is also a lap dog at heart! She loves to follow you around, curl up next to you, and try to squish herself onto your lap for snuggles. Callie loves attention and affection—when she’s ready to play, she’ll drop a random toy on your lap, eager for you to join in her excitement. When playing, she’ll make silly, happy noises that will surely bring a smile to your face. Callie is well-behaved and would make a wonderful addition to any home looking for a loyal, loving companion.

If you’re able to open your heart and home to Callie, she will bring joy, playfulness, and love into your life.

Fostering Callie is a chance to make a real difference in her life while her owner is away. She deserves to be in a loving home, and you could be the one to give her that opportunity!
