Amore is looking for a place to crash from May 1, 2023- Aug. 1, 2024, while her owner is stationed overseas. Amore’s owner loves his little girl and is willing to transport her within an 8-hour radius of Dover, NH, to find her a safe, loving foster home. VT, ME, MA, RI ,CT ,NY ,NJ ,PA ,DE, OH, VA.

The owner has been in the Coast Guard for over 10 years, and his dog is his world. Amore is the key to maintaining a balance between work and home. The owner is looking for a good foster home to take care of her until he returns.

Amore is a beautiful 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier that the owner rescued two years ago, and can’t imagine being without her.

The owner states that Amore surprised him with how loving and affectionate she was the first time he went to meet her and has continued to show to this day. Massive cuddle bug! She loves to smile at you, hoping she gets belly rubs and a good back scratch!

She knows the following commands: Sit, stay, couch (place command), inside (crate command), paw/other paw, and down/lay down. She also knows up (jump) and rollover but hasn’t mastered those yet.

Amore has food allergies and is on a very strict diet of special food and medication to help control the flare-ups.

Amore loves to go for walks, is leash trained, and loves meeting new people However, since Amore is extremely dog selective so they avoid meeting new dogs when out walking and will turn and go a different direction just to be on the safe side. Amore also has a high prey drive and will try to after deer, rabbits or squirrels when out on a walk or in the yard.

Amore has no destructive tendencies but should be crated when not a home.

Amore is good with people, children, and some dogs. To air on the side of caution, the foster home shouldn’t have any other pets and would prefer only to have older children.

If the foster is close to Dover, NH, and has a medium size dog a meet and greet would need to be arranged ahead of time.
