Princess came to PACT with a sad story and a scared heart. Her whole family was staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their darling 2-year-old daughter, Iliyana, went through surgeries for life-threatening brain cancer. The RMH allows no pets of any kind, and her family did not know what to do. They asked an adult son to take care of Princess for them, but the little pup was so worried and out-of-place without kids to play with that she went on a hunger strike! This adorable Maltie-Poo was skin and bones when Princess’ mom contacted PACT, beside herself that her darling dog was in danger while her own daughter was critically ill. PACT quickly found a wonderful foster with kids and other dogs where Princess finally felt at home. The Wolgins loved their second PACT foster dog, and when Iliyana was shown pictures of Princess playing with her new friends, she started to perk up. One month later, Iliyana was released from the hospital and able to be reunited with her beloved puppy! Where last month, Iliyana‘s family did not know if they would lose both their daughter and their family pets at the same time, now they are all looking forward to a bright future together, thanks to PACT for Animals and the Wolgin’s amazing foster family.
“It has truly been an amazing experience in such an overwhelming situation. If ever you are in a situation where you need a temporary home for your pet call on PACT and they will help.”- Ebony, Owner, 9/23/14
“It was fantastic. Princess, our foster dog, is a great dog and fit in exceptionally well with our kids and other pets. So far we have had two great placements. We love this organization and what it does. We will continue to foster when we can.” – The Wolgin Family, Fosters, 9/2014
