Mathew is a lovable, 5-year-old Labrador Retriever (100 lbs) with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s looking for a foster home while his guardian is away — and he’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back.
💖 Why You’ll Love Mathew
Mathew has the best of both worlds: zoomies when he’s excited and a lazy streak when you’re ready to relax. At the end of the day, he’ll burst out of his kennel with a few minutes of happy play before settling down for snuggles or a nap nearby.
Energy Level: Medium — playful bursts (zoomies!) followed by long lounging sessions.
Social Skills:
Loves all people — no stranger danger here!
Excellent with kids (may knock little ones down accidentally when excited).
Gets along beautifully with other dogs.
Loves cats — sometimes gives chase to play but never to harm.
Training:
House trained (may have 1–2 accidents adjusting to a new place).
Crate trained — happy in his large kennel and sleeps soundly.
Leash trained, but can pull when excited, especially if he sees other dogs.
Personality: A mix of goofy and gentle. Loves being near his people but also enjoys taking solo naps in another room.
🐾 Ideal Foster Home
Mathew would do best in a home where he can safely get daily playtime and yard exercise. He needs a foster comfortable with a strong dog on leash and willing to keep him crated when left alone (he’s most relaxed that way).

Dislikes vacuums and hair dryers — they’re his sworn enemies.
Has mild environmental allergies but does well with over-the-counter medication.
Loves car rides — he’ll curl up and nap, just may bark at other dogs he sees along the way.
