Azul & Pete P.

Breed/Type: Cattle dog and Hound

Location: Fort Liberty, NC

Needs foster care by: March 28, 2024
Needs foster care until: June 30, 2024

Azul and Pete need a foster from March 28, 2024- June 30, 204. The owners are from a dual military family and their orders are overlapping and need help until one owner returns.  The owner can transport within a 3-hour radius of Fort Liberty, NC.  The owner would prefer to keep them together but understands if they need to be separated to secure a safe and secure foster while deployed.

Azul and Pete are both older calm dogs that are very low maintenance. Both dogs get along well with people, children, cats and dogs, and are house, leash and crate-trained. While they are crate trained they do not need to be crated and have no destructive tendencies.

Both are well-behaved on a leash, and do not pull, but may pull a little from excitement in the beginning of the walk. Both are friendly when meeting new people, or pets , but don’t pull to meet them.

Azul is a sweet loving pet, that can become excitable when meeting new people or while playing fetch. However, most of the time he is calm and quiet only to talk when he wants out or food. He usually doesn’t bark much unless someone is coming to the door.   Azul enjoys going for walks and being out side, and loves playing fetch until he is warn out.  He is independent but enjoys getting attention and belly scratches.

Pete is very low energy and is extremely quiet. The owner states he is more like a cat than a dog.  Pete is very independent and enjoys being out in the yard and laying in the sun. While he enjoys going for walks, he is happy just to be in the yard hanging out. Most days he can be found sleeping on his dog bed.
