Jonathan and his family are members of the US Marines who have recently received a new assignment overseas and won’t be able to bring their much loved senior dogs with them. Myrtle and Follie are 9 and 11, respectively, and Jonathan and his wife fear they are not young enough for air travel any longer. Rather than surrender their old girls to an uncertain fate, Jonathan is hoping to find a loving foster home for the next 2 years, near their home in Holly Ridge, NC.

Follie is an 11 year old, 65lbs spayed female walker hound. She is microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and heartworm medication. Follie has occasional seizures (1-2 per year) but her vet has said that they aren’t severe or frequent enough to warrant medication at this time. Follie is crate trained and knows commands for sit, lay, and roll over. Follie does well with her sister Myrtle and older kids, but hasn’t been around other dogs or cats much in her life.

Myrtle is a 9 year old, 35lbs, spayed female Bassett hound/dachshund mix. She is also microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations and heartworm prevention. Myrtle is crate trained and knows commands for sit. Her family says she may be older, but she still has a fun, spunky personality. Myrtle gets uncomfortable around bigger dogs other than her sister. Myrtle is good with Follie, though, and older kids as well.
