Yeuna is a member of the US Army, who was reassigned on short notice and will be going on assignment from 11/20/2020 – 8/20/2021. Yeuna had a foster lined up for her dog, Mimosa, but unfortunately that friend will also be deploying shortly after Yeuna. Now Mimosa needs a new foster ASAP near their home in Fort Hood, TX.
Mimosa is a 5 year old, 95 lbs, spayed female American Akita. She is microchipped, up to date on her vaccination, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. Mimosa gets seasonal allergies, and her foster will be provided with oral allergy medication for her. Mimosa is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, lay down, wait, paw, high five, and hands up. She walks well on leash, but will pull for squirrels and bunnies, and will also try to get them in the yard. Yeuna says, “Mimosa may look tough, but she is a sweet old lady at heart. As their breed are known for loyalty, they are keen learners and affectionate dogs. I immediately adopted her after someone had dumped her on the streets, using her for breeding puppies. Parks, hiking and swimming are her favorite activities. And she will do anything for a spoonful of peanut butter! Once you gain her trust, she will always listen and become the most obedient, loving dog.”
