Darian is a member of the US National Guard who is preparing for a year-long overseas assignment from 10/1/2021 – 10/1/2022.  Darian’s partner is deploying at the same time, and the couple is looking for a foster for their beautiful German Shepherd, Luna, near their home in Schuylkill Haven, PA.
Luna is a 1.5 year old, 65lbs, spay-pending female German Shepherd.  Luna has her appointment to be spayed in August 2021 and is fully up to date on her vaccinations.  Luna has several food allergies and must be kept on her provided diet at all times.  She is energetic, playful, and intelligent.  Luna is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, lay down, paw, in your crate, and is well trained on her routine with Darian for meals, playtime, and exercise.  Luna is friendly with cats in the home, but doesn’t have experience living with another dog.  Darian says that on walks Luna is interested and never aggressive with other dogs that they meet, and he thinks she would be fine with a companion dog in the home.  Darian says, “Luna is a very special pup due to her energy and amount of play and love she is capable of! If you give her the exercise she needs, she will be super well behaved. She will always want attention though!  Preferably a 2 person household (can be less or more) of adults and/or teen(s) who will be able to give Luna enough run/play time in a fenced yard, outside of work. The foster family must be very patient and willing to spend time with her, as she is very high energy (but that comes with the territory with German Shepherds!). Also looking for a foster who will be willing to stick to my requests while taking care of her.”
