Brittany and her husband are members of the US National Guard and will be going on overseas assignment from 2/13/2021 – 3/1/2022.  Brittany is hoping to find three foster homes for her three special pets, Chief, Diesel, and Farrah, near their home in Abbeville, LA.

Chief is a 4 year old, 77lbs, neuter-pending male Labrador/German Shepherd mix. Chief will be neutered before entering his foster home.  He is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention.  Chief may jump up when meeting new people or when trying to get some attention.  Chief is crate and leash trained, and knows commands for sit and lay down.  Chief does best in a people only household, but gets along well with submissive female dogs.  Brittany says, “He is very sweet and attention loving. He rather be pet on than doing anything too active. He has a really cute face and will follow you everywhere.  The best foster for him would be someone who is willing to give him lots of love and attention. He is not a very high maintenance dog when it comes to exercise. I call him a lazy walker, he likes to go on walks, but after a little bit of time he will get tired. He is a fun and very faithful dog and will give you as much love as you give him and more.”

Diesel is a 3 year old, 84lbs, neuter-pending Labrador/Catahoula mix.  Diesel will also be neutered prior to entering his foster home.  He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. Diesel is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, stay, lay down, shake, high five, up, down, and speak.  Diesel gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids.  Brittany says, “He does not realize how big he is so he will try to sit in your lap. He will also shove his head between your legs when he wants you to throw his rope.  Diesel’s perfect foster would be someone who is used to dogs 80-90 pounds. Also someone who likes to exercise; he loves to go on runs. Someone who is willing to listen and understand his body language. He can be nervous around new people, especially people who move fast to pet him that he does not know. Someone who is patient and willing to work with him if he exhibits bad behaviors again such as jumping, barking or chewing.”

Farrah is a 2 year old, 8lbs, spayed female domestic shorthaired cat (orange tabby.)  Farrah is up to date on her vaccinations.  She is an energetic and playful kitty.  Brittany says, “Farrah will lay on your chest. She can be very cuddly and may stretch out on you and flip upside down and look at you. She is a very funny and playful cat.  Her perfect foster would be someone who love cats! She is fun, cute and really funny. My husband calls her a “Youtube cat” because she does random things that are really entertaining. She loves attention and loves to cuddle when she is calm.”
