UPDATE: Sergeant is staying with one of Gavin’s relatives after all!

Gavin is a service member with the US Marines, who will be changing stations in the US.  His wife is also a member of the US military, and due to her training schedule the little family is no longer able to keep their base housing, where they live with their fur-baby, Sergeant.  Gavin is looking for a foster home for Sergeant from October to April 14th, 2019, when the family can be reunited once more.

Sergeant is a 1 year old neutered male Australian Kelpie.  Sergeant is a petite, playful guy at only 30lbs!  Sergeant is energetic and very smart, and enjoys running, playing, and doggy puzzles.  Sergeant is crate trained, working on his leash training, and knows commands for sit, go prone, halt, come here, leave-it, in your crate, look, and off.  Sergeant is great with children and other dogs, but doesn’t like to share his food, so we would recommend feeding him separately from other animals/kids.

Gavin says the perfect foster family for Sergeant would be, “An active and outgoing family who runs, walks, hikes or goes to the park often. Or even a family who is just willing to play fetch with a dog for 40 minutes to an hour a day. A family with or without kids and other Dogs doesn’t matter to him, as he’s always gotten along with everyone, and has only shown love. But most of all, a family who is willing to work with him, and be open-minded that he is still only a year old, and with that can still get into shenanigans. My favorite thing about him is his overall loving attitude, never-ending happiness, and overall quirky personality.”
