Meaty needs a home in Maryland/D.C. area or beyond!

Kirby, a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army, has received orders and his wife Julia and their children must move to Germany. They want nothing more than to bring their dog Meaty with them, but due to the country’s very restrictive breed laws, they have no choice but to try to find a foster home for him until they return.

The family has had Meaty since he was a baby. At only 9 weeks old, he was diagnosed with Parvo disease, but Kirby and Julia did everything possible to ensure his survival. Now 8 years later and healthy, Meaty has grown up with their four children, and has been patient and gentle, as well as a best friend to each one. The family will be devastated if they cannot find a temporary foster for Meaty.

Meaty is very laid back, loves to cuddle and enjoys jogging and bike riding. When Kirby was deployed overseas in the past, Meaty became the “man of the house,” and helped keep Julia and the kids safe.

Meaty is good with most dogs he meets, but has more experience with females, so he would do best going to a home with a female if the foster has their own dog(s). Can you help keep this family together by opening your home and heart to Meaty while his owners are in Germany?

*Meaty is currently in Arizona, but we are looking to transport him to the Maryland/D.C. area to be close to family.
